Our Night On The Red Carpet:
Creating a Film Festival.
During my studies of Film and Media at Sixth Form, my class were given the opportunity to create and attend our own awards ceremony. Through this experience, I not only got to see other peoples reaction to media texts I'd created, but also got to communicate with external companies in order to create the image we wanted for the Film Festival.
We contacted our local Odeon Cinema and were given hanging posters that we could use to decorate our school's theatre. Alongside these we added fairy lights and a large screen projector creating a professional look that went with the overall theme of the Festival.
We also contacted media professionals to judge the different categories in our Film Festival. This included John Swartz, the co-producer of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. It was really useful and exciting to hear from people who had achieved success within the industry.

This opportunity as a whole allowed me to experience media events rather than just my previous experience of creating texts. I thoroughly enjoyed this opportunity and loved the night itself. I'm proud of the group for the event and for the media texts we created to display at the event.
